Toy culture for adults has grown significantly in the past decade with the popularity of cute, animal-shaped stationary supplies like unicorns, llamas, and elephants as well as nostalgic movies and film characters, such as seen in Funko Pop collectibles. Amelia Tait, a journalist for Vox, reported that "Funko Pops are now available from 25,000 retail brands worldwide, from Walmart to Amazon to Hot Topic and even, somewhat bizarrely, Foot Locker. In 2018, the company's net sales increased 33 percent to $686.1 million... It's likely you've now encountered a Funko Pop — be it on a coworker's desk, wrapped under a Christmas tree, or waiting, blank-eyed, in your date's home." The statistics from Vox show a shift in character designs directed at a broader and older range of customers. It also demonstrates how office culture has shifted from a very strict, suit-and-tie environment to a more relaxed and playful one where employees can express their interests through their desk nix-knicks.

The Jams Bluetooth speaker is an illusion of the shark rising out of the water with music emitting from its wide-open mouth. The exterior design is base on both trends of animal-shape design and nostalgia for the movie Jaws. The name for the product and the packaging itself is directly inspired by the famous Jaws poster and characteristic large mouth opening. The minimal features of the shark make it suitable for young and older users, while its water-resistant design makes it ideal for outside the office use like at the beach or poolside.
